A Saturday Night Shooting in Vincennes Remains Under Investigation

On Saturday April 06, 2019 at approximately 9:15 PM, the Vincennes Police Department responded to a home in the 800 block of Shelby in reference to a 911 call for an individual whom had been shot and was being transported to the hospital.
Officers responded to Good Samaritan Hospital simultaneously and contacted the individuals whom had transported the victim. The victim was receiving immediate emergency medical care. The individuals located at both the residence and the GSH emergency room, including the victim, were juveniles ranging in age from 15 to 17 years old. Parents were contacted due to the ages of the individuals.
Vincennes Police Department Detectives and Patrol Officers immediately began investigating the incident. Indiana State Police Crime Scene assisted in processing the location of the shooting. The victim in the shooting was identified as a 17-year-old male. His medical condition was and remains very serious.
During a search of the residence and subsequent interviews, three hand guns, a shotgun, a rifle, suspected marijuana, and potential evidence of dealing in marijuana were obtained. A 15 year old juvenile was taken into custody and lodged at Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village for: Criminal Recklessness 35-42-2 -1.5 (b)(2) Level 5 Felony, Dangerous Possession of a Firearm 35-47-5-10 A misdemeanor, and Dealing In Marijuana 35-48-4 -10 A Misdemeanor.
The incident remains under investigation.
