A Loogootee woman pled guilty to charges of theft, forgery and fraud in Gibson County Circuit Court Tuesday.
According to the Princeton Daily Clarion, 25-year-old Neely Held was a former sales representative for Paxton Media Group which owns the Vincennes Sun-Commercial, the Princeton Daily Clarion, and the Mt. Carmel Register. Held was arrested in July of 2018 for making $125,000 in overcharges and unauthorized charges to client accounts. After her arrest Held was released on a $15,000 bond.
At Tuesday’s hearing, Special Judge August Straus, sentenced Held to 360 days of probation. In addition, the Judge ordered fines and court costs to be taken out of Held’s bond. Judge Straus also ordered the remaining bond money be applied to probation fees.
