Charges are pending after police pursued a teen from Mt. Carmel, Illinois into Gibson County, Indiana Thursday.
At 3:20 local time, police were at Mt. Carmel, Illinois high school investigating an alleged threat. Soon after, there was a report of an officer who had been struck by a vehicle. The officer reported he was in pursuit of a teen when he was struck. The chase crossed the river into Gibson County, Indiana and the teen was taken into custody near Owensville.
The officer hit by the vehicle is expected to make a full recovery after being treated at Washington General Hospital in Mt. Carmel.
