C-B-D products are coming to Indiana’s largest supermarket chain sometime this month.
Kroger will begin selling C-B-D lotions and creams in Indiana and 16 other states. The grocery chain describes it as a “highly curated selection…reviewed for quality and safety.” Spokesman Eric Halvorson says the supermarket won’t sell bottles of C-B-D oil to swallow — only topical remedies.
C-B-D oil is in the marijuana family, but can’t get you high. Indiana legalized its sale last year, and Halvorson says there’s been consumer demand.
There’s evidence cannabadiol helps to control epileptic seizures. Medical groups have cautioned other benefits it supposedly has are still unproven.
Halvorson says he doesn’t expect a splashy marketing campaign — the C-B-D lotions will be added to pharmacy shelves like any other product.
