State verifies that Martin County had the highest voter turnout

Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson is congratulating Martin County.
Lawson released the Primary Election Voter Turnout Report today showing us how many voted in municipal elections back on May 7th.  Martin County tied with Rush County with the highest turnout in the state with 35% of registered voters in each county voting in the election.
No everyone was eligible to vote as the municipal election is limited to those who live in a city or town or a school corporation conducting a construction or levy tax referendum.
Statewide average was 13% turnout.  You can see Lawson’s report online just click here.
Voter registration is open for the General Election in November.  If you voted in the primary you don’t have to re-register.  Go to indianavoters.in.gov/ to verify your registration.
