Donald “Falcon” Harris

Donald “Falcon” Harris, 59, of Loogootee, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born August 4, 1959 in Washington, Indiana to the late Lowell Harris and Cora (Hedrick) Harris.
Don was an outdoorsman. He loved fishing and gardening. He would take his boat to Hindostan Falls and float on the river. He would watch for eagle nest and enjoy the beauty of nature. Don was a hard worker and always completed each task his very best. He loved spending time with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.
He began his career in coal mining in 1991 and worked in various coal mines. In 1997 he started with Peabody Mines and was currently at the Somerville Central Mine.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell Harris and Cora (Hedrick) Harris; siblings, Ronald Harris, David Harris, Richard Harris and Mary Louise Gribben.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary (Graham) Harris of Loogootee; daughters, Casey (Chad) Burgan of Cannelburg, Tina (Joe) Troutman of Shoals, and Kim (Josh) Huff of Odon; step-son, Brandon Graham of Vincennes; grandchildren, Madison, Emily, Chase, Wesley, Aubrey, Rayne and Lily; brother, Edwin Harris.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 21, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
