William J.”Bill” Bouscaren

William J.”Bill” Bouscaren, 91, passed Thursday, June 20, 2019, at the Villages at Oak Ridge, Washington, Indiana.  He was born August 15, 1927, in Good Pine, Louisiana, to Lelia (Gourley) and Henry V. Bouscaren. He received an Associate Degree in Barstow, California.  He served in the military during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, serving first in the Navy for eighteen years achieving the rank of Lieutenant. After the Navy, Bill worked as an engineer tracking sites for NASA. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Capitan. While serving in the military,  he received eight medals including one Bronze Star.  Upon retirement from the military, Bill was active in the National Guard.
He is survived by a daughter, Christine (Steve) Steiner of Washington; three sons, Stephen Bouscaren of San Diego, California, Charles Bouscaren of Yermo, California, and Peter Bouscaren of  Texas;  seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death February 22, 2018, by his wife, Betty (Corville) Bousacren, whom he married on August 20, 1948. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Henry Bouscaren, Jr. and one sister, Lelia (Bouscaren) Malley.
Visitation will be Monday, June 24, 2019, from 5 to 7 pm at the Ed Lee Mortuary Downtown Chapel. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at 10 am at the Mortuary with Yvonne Evans officiating. Burial will take place thereafter at the St. Peter Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites.
