Berl E. Adams, 92, of Monroe City, IN, passed away at the Golden Living Center in Petersburg, IN, on June 22, 2019.
Berl enjoyed going to church and serving God. He loved his family. Taking nature walks and watching birds were two of his favorite activities. He retired from the Monroe City Elementary School.
Born October 25, 1926, in Knox County, IN, he was the son of James and Clara Adams. His parents; his first born son, William Isaac Adams; his grandson, William Exton Brockus III; his son-in-law, Timothy Frank Carroll; his sisters, Dorothy Parker and her husband, Roy, Annilee Thompson and her husband, Owen, Ruth Pankake and her husband, John, Gertrude Haines and her husband, Carl, and Caroll Adams; and her brothers, William Adams, Ulysses Adams, and James Adams and his wife, Virginia preceded him.
Surviving is his wife of 70 years, Evia Imogene (Stewart) Adams; his children, Evelyn Luzzi and her husband, John, of Hobart, IN, Helen Carroll of Linton, IN, Rosalie Hedge and her husband, John, of Vincennes, IN, Sandra Hittle and her husband, Joe, of Milo, IA, Berl L. Adams and his wife, Diane, of Church Point, LA, Tamer Adams and his wife, Wendy, of Monroe City, IN, and Darrell Adams and his wife, Jeanne, of Monroe City, IN; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Adams and Louise Adams; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with Berl’s family from 9:30 – 11:00 on Tuesday morning, at the Hamline Chapel United Methodist Church, near Monroe City, IN. His funeral will begin at 11:00 on Tuesday, at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
