A Daviess County Sheriff’s Deputy and 2 Jail Officers received Live Saving Awards at this week’s Indiana Sheriff’s Association Conference President’s Banquet.
Sheriff Gary Allison presented the awards to Deputy Justin T. Williams, Assistant Shift Supervisor Hunter Goble and Corrections Officer Douglas E. Mott Jr.
Williams was going home from training in March when he used the Heimlich Maneuver on a 7 year old to dislodge a piece of hard candy from the child’s throat.
In May of this year, Officers Goble and Mott found an unresponsive man in the Security Center. They performed CPR and summoned medical assistance.
Sheriff Allison said without the quick actions of the officers the incidents could’ve ended in loss of life.
The awards were presented on Wednesday in Evansville at the banquet held at the Old National Bank Events Center.
