Martin County authorities released details of a Sunday traffic stop that turned into drug arrests.
They report that 40-year-old Nicholas J. Guy and 35-year-old Russell L. Peek both Loogootee were charged with Possession of Meth, Marijuana and Paraphernalia and Maintaining a Common Nuisance. Guy was also charged with Possession of a Schedule 2 Controlled Substance.
The arrests came after traffic stop on Sunday on a vehicle for a moving violation by Indiana State Trooper Jarrod Lents. An inventory of the vehicle turned up controlled substance pills and a crystal like substance that tested posive for meth.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Department says due to intelligence gained from an ongoing investigation by their department, Martin County Deputies and Trooper Lents requested a search warrant for a residence at 1553 US Highwya 50. A search warrant was served and with the assistance of a K9 unit more meth, marijuana, scales and paraphernalia were found.
