Matt Meredith was elected to serve on the Daviess County Council in District 4 at a caucus held by the Daviess County Republican Party. The caucus was held Wednesday, August 28th at 6:30 PM at the Daviess County Courthouse to fill the vacancy when former Councilman Pat Dant resigned.
Meredith has been employed by Graber Post Buildings, Inc. for eleven years where he serves as IT Manager and Corporate Pilot. Meredith said, “My wife Brenda and I made the decision to move back to Washington because we believed this community would be a great place to raise children. We committed ourselves to serve others both in the workplace and community by sharing our time and talents.” They are the parents of three active boys.
He has served and continues to serve the community in a variety of capacities over the years: Current Secretary of the Daviess County Board of Aviation Commissioners, Current Director for the local Trail Life USA scouting organization, Former Board Member of the Daviess County United Way, Current Board Member of Washington Youth Baseball, Inc. “I am committed to continue to do what is best for our county, and to listen to the constituents of my district. I believe in being open and honest and will provide a balanced approach, considering all sides before making decisions,” said Meredith.
The new District 4 County Councilman will be sworn-in immediately in preparation for budget hearings beginning September 11, 2019.
