Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) hosted nearly 300 military and civilian experts for the 2019 Triad Symposium on August 23 at WestGate Academy in Odon, Indiana. The event features Crane’s collaboration with the U.S. Air Force, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and universities in Indiana to pursue strategic nuclear modernization and other key conventional strike technological requirements.
Speakers, including senior level military leadership, addressed current plans to modernize U.S. systems through collaborative, cost-effective solutions for our nation’s nuclear deterrent. NSWC Crane, academic, and industry discussed their support of strategic systems and the development of solutions for advanced systems. Speakers discussed building partnerships with experts across United States defense community, including defense industry partners, Department of Defense, Air Force, and Navy.
NSWC Crane, DoD, and industry leadership discussed their efforts to support our nation’s warfighters by providing critical strategic hardware engineering to the Navy, Air Force, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), and MDA, as well as how such technologies support our defense strategy and the challenges faced bringing them to the battlefield.
