Be prepared for Fall storms

The National Weather Service office in Paducah, Kentucky has designated this week as Fall Weather Peparedness Week.
In October and November there is an increased risk of severe thunderstorms than any other time of the year other than spring.  Tornadoes, large hail, flash floods and damaging winds are all more possible over the next 60 to 90 days.  The greatest number of tornado casualites in the southern Indiana region over the past 25 years has occurred in the fall. On November 6th 2005 when an EF3 tornado killed 25 people when it hit at 2-am in the Evansville area.
NWS says some ways to be prepared for fall storms is to have 2 ways to receive weather warnings, also, make sure you know where your safe place or shelter is and have an emergency kit prepared.
