This Saturday is the Stone Soup Festival in downtown Washington. It’s being put on by the Heartbeat of Washington.
The festival is based around the Stone Soup story which is a a European folk story in which hungry strangers convince the people of a town to each share a small amount of their food in order to make a meal that everyone enjoys, and exists as a moral regarding the value of sharing.
Shelly Shake with Heartbeat of Washington says the day is filled with family friendly events…
It runs from 10-am to 1-pm and also includes a bounce house, a community soup dinner at noon along with hot dogs. There’s also a food drive to benefit Feed My Sheep.
