Street paving has started in Washington.
The city says the areas to be milled and paved include Highway 50 from the Roundabout to State Street; Meridian from Walnut to Apraw, Northeast 1st from Walnut to John and South Street from 57 to Southeast 7th. Patching and repair work will be done at 50 and Meridian.
City Street Superintendent Bryan Sergesketter says no parking signs will be posted in the areas during work which will also take place on Saturdays. While paving machines are laying pavement in front of your residence, access to your driveway and that section of the streets won’t be possible for up to two hours. When the Roller Operator gives the all clear, the surface can then be driven on.
All of the work should last a week or so dependent upon the weather.
