The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called to the 3700 block of North Parker Avenue around 11:45 a.m. Monday, when a woman driving a car hit a parked vehicle.
Rita Reith, Batallion Chief for the Indianapolis Fire Department, says the white Pontiac G6 was driving down Parker Avenue at a high rate of speed when it hit a fence. The G6 then flipped in the air, nose down, hit the side of a house, and came back down.
The female driver was thrown from the car, through the rear window, and landed on the roof of the house.
Firefighters say she was unconscious when they rescued her from the roof. She was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
Police say two children — a toddler and a newborn — were in the car as well. They were rescued by witnesses, and later taken to a hospital, but are okay.
A woman that was inside the house had to be taken to the hospital as well.
Their names were not immediately released.
