Gary G. Norris, 77, of Loogootee passed at 8:18 A.M on Wednesday October 30, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Indiana surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 16, 1942 in Martin County, Indiana to Delbert S. and Mae (Holland) Norris.
Gary was a United States Army Veteran. He married Carolyn Jane (Combess) Norris on October 10, 1964. Gary retired after 50 years as a Supervisor from NSWC Crane Base. He was a member of the Loogootee American Legion Post #120. Gary was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He liked to work outside and was an avid and passionate gardener.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Delbert and Mae Norris, and his siblings Hubert Norris, Donnie Norris, David Norris, Marcella Fuhs.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carolyn Jane Norris, his daughter Dina R. Ferguson, his siblings; Diane (Mike) Wood, Barbara (Paul) Cannon, Ray (Cheryl) Norris, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 A.M Saturday November 2, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial and military rights will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday November 1, 2019 from 4:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M at Blake Funeral Home and again on Saturday November 2, 2019 from 9:00 A.M until the time of service.
