(NETWORK INDIANA) Seventy-eight years after he died at Pearl Harbor, a Marine from South Bend is coming home to Indiana.
Marley Arthurholtz was 20-years-old when he and 428 other crewmen died aboard the USS Oklahoma on Dec. 7, 1941.
In 1949, a military board classified the remains of Arthurholtz and others who could not be identified as “non-recoverable.”
On Sept. 18, Arthurholtz was identified by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency through the use of DNA and dental analysis.
He will be buried Nov. 30 in Granger.
