Jerry S. Boger, age 72, of Washington passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019, at Daviess community Hospital.
Jerry was born on January 10, 1947 in Washington to Lawrence and Blanche (Chattin) Boger. He was a 1965 graduate of Washington High School and was a US Army Vietnam Veteran serving two tours with the 25th Infantry Tropic Lightning Division. He retired from the Washington City Light and Power after 37 ½ years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the Mountain Men Rendezvous at Friendship and playing his base guitar in the country music bands, The Troubadours and the Centerline. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Washington American Legion, VFW, Washington Conservation Club, Washington Saddle Club, and the NRA.
He is survived by his wife the love of his life for 48 years, Violet “Tina” Boger; step sons, Don and Tony Grannan ; step daughter, Rhonda (Grannan) Simpson and her husband, Patrick; twin brother, Terry Boger; grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews all cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Wilma Osha.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be on Wednesday at 11 AM at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel with Marty Matteson officiating with entombment following at Sugarland Memory Gardens Mausoleum with full military honors by the Washington American Legion and VFW.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday and from 10 AM on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel.
