A man that had to be rescued from high waters in Vigo County around 10:00 p.m. Monday night is now facing charges.
Rescue crews were called to the area of Darwin Road and South Lake Road just south of West Terre Haute.
58-year-old Gerard Dunn and his dog were pulled from nearly 4 feet of water.
Police say that Dunn smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech.
Dunn said his GPS led him into the water.
A breath test showed he had a blood alcohol level of .130 BAC.
He agreed to a chemical test and was taken to an area hospital but then changed his mind and refused.
Dunn also allegedly kicked a deputy in the shin.
He now faces charges of battery against an officer, resisting law enforcement and DWI.
