Toyota celebrates expansion project

Gov. Eric Holcomb joined Toyota executives on Friday to announce that the company is investing $700 million in its assembly facility in Princeton. Toyota will also add 150 new jobs in Princeton by the end of 2022. The four-million-square-foot facility helps make the Toyota Highlander midsize SUV.    It’s all part of a 1.3 billion dollar project which is boosting vehicle production and adding an actual total of 550 jobs at the Gibson County plant.  Production has begun on the Highlander and they continue to build Sequoia SUVs and Sienna minivans.  The plant can now produce 420,000 vehicle per year.  It currently employs 7,000 people.
