Jerry V. Smith, 77, of Loogootee, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
He was born November 14, 1942 in Washington, Indiana to the late Frank R. and Mildred (Arvin) Smith.
Jerry graduated in 1961 from Loogootee High School and attended Vincennes University.
Jerry was a lifelong farmer that loved sports, fishing and boating. He was a member of the White River Masonic Lodge and attended the Loogootee United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank R. and Mildred Smith and brother-in-law, Michael Lett.
Jerry is survived by his siblings, Karol (Bob) Wade of Avon, Jim (Judy) Smith of Oracle, Arizona, Darrell (Nina) Smith of Bloomfield, Beth Lett of Loogootee and Tony (Lana) Smith of Loogootee; 16 nieces and nephews; and uncle, Clinton Smith of Surprise, Arizona.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Loogootee United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Goodwill Cemetery.
