The Pike County School community including students, faculty, staff, parents and friends are mourning the loss of a beloved teacher.
Ivan Mason, in his 40th year of teaching, passed away Thursday morning unexpectedly. In a Facebook post the corporation says Mason spent most of his career at Winslow before transferring to Pike Central Middle School where he taught 5th and 6th grade the last few years. He attended many sporting events and encouraged students to do and be their best at all times.
Pike County Schools will be closed on Monday so faculty and staff can attend the funeral at Noon at Corn Colvin Funeral Home at Noon. There’ll be a visitation at the Pike Central Gym on Sunday from 3 to 8.
