The Daviess County Health Department has ordered all food delivery services to hospitals, nursing homes, and businesses to be completed outside of the delivery premises. Entry by delivery people is prohibited. Maintaining the 6 foot separation of social distancing needs to be adhered to, the department said. Also the local health department said those delivery persons have to be provided some form of hand sanitizer by the business or agency once the delivery and transaction is complete. Of course pre-payment is recommended. Deliveries to homes in Daviess County will continue as usual with delivery staff being required to use hand sanitizes.
Also, it’s been announced that dispatch centers in Daviess County are now screening calls for coronavirus. Questions are asked to callers in order to screen in the attempt to minimize the spread. If a caller answers yes to any question, the dispatch center will advise responding units of a positive screen. That is NOT a diagnosis however, The information is used so that emergency personnel, like police fire EMS etc can be ready with appropriate personal protection gear when they arrive on scene. For those who monitor scanners and police radios, when you hear the term Positive Screen or Negative Screen, again, it is not a diagnosis.
All are continuing to be asked to stay home as much as possible, definitely stay home if you are sick limit contact, practice social distancing, wash your hands often.
