There are no planning delays expected for the Mid State Corridor project. That was the word over the weekend from spokesperson Mindy Peterson. The corridor is a planned route from Rockport to Jasper and then connecting to I69. There are currently five routes being considered. A route is set to be picked this fall.
Opponents wrote a letter to the Indiana Department of Transportation last week saying that plans for the new road should stop as the state is focused on the pandemic. Those same opponents are also for upgrading existing roads and not build a new road to avoid damage and destruction of farmland, forests and caves.
