Last week, Daviess County Sheriff Gary Allison reported a recent jail inmate tested positive for COVID-19. Several from his department and Washington City Police had been in contact with that inmate. Today the Sheriff says that all of those who were in contact with the inmate have tested negative for the virus. The Indiana State Health Department Strike Team conducted the tests on Friday. All those who were tested will stay quarantined for another 72 hours. Barring any symptoms, the employees will return to work at that time. The Sheriff’s Office says they will continue to adhere to the recommendations of the CDC, Indiana State and Daviess County Health Department guidelines to contain the spread.
