Purdue student makes history

The coronavirus caused a drastic change in many students’ school year, including Purdue University graduate Jalen Rice. Rice powered through the school year and became the first African American in the school’s 150 year history to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering. Rice said that not having personal instruction with professors made things even more difficult than usual. He still intends to achieve his childhood dream of becoming an astronaut.
