Clara L. Dages Briggs

Clara L. Dages Briggs, 74, of Woodbridge, Virginia, formerly of Montgomery, was born August 26, 1945, the second child and eldest daughter of Joseph Francis Dages and Anna Mae Feagans.  Clara passed peacefully, at home and surrounded by family, on May 11, 2020, due to complications of COPD and the COVID-19 virus.
After graduating from Montgomery High School in 1963, Clara completed St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Evansville, IN in 1966.  On July 2, 1966, she married Loren Alan Briggs. She served the various communities in which she lived through her nursing career (primarily in labor and delivery), and her family.  Her family will remember her for her INDUSTRIOUSNESS, INTELLECT, FAITH and LOVE.
Clara was preceded in death by both parents, her older brother Francis Joseph Dages, her sister-in-law Rowena (Dennis) Dages, daughter-in-law Sandy (Kimmel) Briggs, as well as many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is survived by her children, LuAnn (Greg) Davis, Joseph Alan Briggs, Gregory Aaron Briggs, Teresa Lynn (Arthur) Greer, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren along with numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Sudhakar Bhastati and concelebrant Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2020 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery. Burial will follow in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 18, 2020 at St. Peter Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at the church.
