Mrs. Patricia Purkiser Beckett, 77 of Satsuma, FL, formerly of Washington, went to her heavenly home on June 7, 2020.
Patti was born in Washington, IN on January 31, 1943 to the late Imogene (Lucas) Barley and Russell Bartley. Several years later Imogene married the late Russell Purkiser and he adopted Patti.
Norman Beckett and Patti (Purkiser) Beckett were able to marry on July 28, 1962 and spent nearly 60 wonderful years together in love.
Patti enjoyed being a military wife and was proud of her husband serving his country; she selflessly went wherever the call of duty took them. She worked for the Navy Exchange as an accountant, security, and administrative jobs. Even after military life she went to work at Walmart as an accountant and personnel manager before retiring. Patti’s greatest life accomplishment was her family whom she loved dearly; her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren.
Patti is survived by; her loving husband, Mr. Norman Beckett; daughter, Patricia Lyn “Missy” Lawson (Ron); grandchildren, Paige, Justin, Patton, Nicholas, and Amy.
She was preceded by, her parents.
There will be a visitation at Gill Funeral Chapel on Sunday, June 14, 2020 from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow on Monday at noon also at the funeral home with Pastor Byron Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will follow in Oakgrove Cemetery.
