The Washington City Council has their 2nd meeting in June set for tonight at 6:30. Again the meetings are being held in person and open to the public but social distancing is being practiced. On the agenda is a report from the Daviess County Friends for Animals Group. Representatives will talk about property on Oak Street which has been donated to them. The Board of Public Works and Safety meets after the council. They will talk about sidewalk and curb replacement applications. Also a resident will be appealing charges for violation of a city ordinance.

The Daviess County Commissioners will meet tomorrow at 9 at the courthouse. They will get updates on the annex including discussion of a service contract for an elevator in the new building. The Highway Department will discuss the budget and ongoing projects. Also, policies and procedures for easing COVID-19 restrictions at the courthouse will again be reviewed and discussed.
