Advance Daviess County Coalition Boosts MidState Corridor Routes

Under a tent on the grounds of Hoefling Truck and Tractor,Tuesday morning,  Daviess County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Bryant Niehoff introduced the leadership of the Advance Daviess County Coalition and the Daviess Driven campaign aimed at securing the proposed route for the MidState Corridor highway for Daviess County.
Neihoff introduced the Advance Daviess County Coalition leadership:  The Advance Daviess County Coalition committee, consisting of Tony Graber, Michael Healy, Joe Morris, David Stowers, Grant Swartzentruber, and Niehoff is looking for ways to bring Daviess County out of the COVID economic downturn in a strong position.   Coalition president Tony Graber explains.

The proposed routes for the MidState highway have been cut down to six with two connecting to I 69 south of Washington.  Daviess County Chamber of Commerce Director Joe Morris said the proposed routes through Daviess County would have a positive impact on area tourism and the hospitality industry, and other small locally owned business.  Washington Mayor David Rhoads said the road would improve regional traffic safety.    Coalition members say the Daviess County routes for the proposed highway are the most financially responsible, most cost effective, would be the least environmentally intrusive, and would have minimal impact on community resources.   For more information on Advance Daviess County Coalition, Daviess Driven or the Mid-States Corridor Project, visit www.advancedaviesscounty.com
