Marsha Blake, 66, of Washington, Indiana, went to be with Jesus on March 22, 2020, at the IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, at 6:45 pm.
She was born to Brayton and Imogene (Krodel) Thompson on March 26, 1953 in Washington, Indiana.
Marsha married the love of her life, James R. Blake, on Nov. 27, 1971.
She was a member of the Twin Oaks Holiness Church in Petersburg, Indiana, and loved Jesus.
Marsha lived life to the fullest…she loved laughing and did it often. She loved playing games, telling jokes, hosting parties for family and friends, and antiquing anywhere their travels took them.
She designed and they built her dream home. She had an amazing talent for combining and arranging their antiques, family heirlooms and her preferred current style to make her home look like a picture from a magazine.
Marsha had the awesome privilege of staying home and raising her girls. Christmas traditions, family vacations, and special family gatherings were a priority for her.
In recent years, she especially loved just being home, playing her baby grand piano, having her kids, grandkids, family and friends over, driving her 1965 red Mustang, their annual trips to Florida, and, as we said before, laughing and having a good time.
Marsha is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Diane (Thompson) Ross. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim of Washington; and her daughters, Denise Bittinger of Indianapolis, Indiana; Nicole (Stephen) Cassady of Beavertown, Pennsylvania; and her five grandchildren, Cammi and Bentley Bittinger, Blake, Chloe and Ashton Cassady’ and siblings Annette Thompson and Angela Mickelson.
A private funeral and burial was held on March 25, 2020. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on July 18 at 10 a.m. at the Twin Oaks Church, 1911 E CR 650 N, Petersburg, IN 47567. All are invited to attend.
