Today is the first day of the state wide mask mandate. Hoosiers are asked to wear face coverings in all public settings to help slow the spread of the coronavirus. The order will be in effect starting today until at least August 26th. Anyone above the age of eight is asked to wear a face covering while inside a business, public building, or other indoor public place. This does not include private offices, work spaces, or meetings where you can practice social distancing. For outdoor public areas where you can’t stand six feet apart from others, a face covering is also required.
It is also required for use of public transportation. City Street Superintendent Brian Sergesketter spoke with us last week about the new policy…
Rides on the City Bus are free around the city. Again the statewide mask mandate goes into effect today until at least August 26th. Those who do not wear a mask will not face criminal charges or jail time.
