Jasper man charged with Criminal Trespassing after refusing to wear mask

Police arrested a man Wednesday because he refused to wear a mask at a Dubois County swimming pool. Gov. Eric Holcomb’s mask mandate requires face coverings to be worn in any city-owned facility, but Eric Kreiger, 35, still refused to wear one at the Jasper Municipal Swimming Pool. Police say when they arrived at the pool, they tried to get Kreiger to leave, but he refused to do that, too. Jasper Parks Department Director Ken Buck says the pool has masks that people can purchase for only a dollar, but Kreiger didn’t want to buy one.

Kreiger was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.
