Joseph A. Calderazzo MD, PHD,

Joseph A. Calderazzo MD, PHD, 68 of Washington, passed away peacefully at his home on April 25, 2020 at 6:25 P.M. after a long illness.
Joseph was born in Vandergrift, PA on July 7, 1951 to the late Emma (DelVecchio) and Fredric Calderazzo, and then grew up in Morrisville, PA. He graduated from Bishop Egan High School as Valedictorian and went on to St. Joseph’s University and then obtained his Doctorate degree from Temple University; where he also completed his residency in Pediatrics and Hematology/Oncology.
In 1980 Joe moved to Washington, IN. He was a successful and well- loved pediatrician in the area for many years. He also worked in the ER for several local hospitals as an ER physician. His second passion was refereeing high school sports; football, basketball, baseball, and softball, with football being his hands down favorite. He took great pride in wearing that white hat on the field each and every game!
Joseph is survived by; his sister, Vickie Calderazzo (Carl Radich); niece, Karly Radich (Brian Dobrowokliski); long -time companion, Cathy Sager; extended family, Steve Sager (Sue), Debbie Flaspohler (Don), Jacob Flaspohler, Laura Liu (Tyler), Stacy Hammestein (Derick).
There will be a memorial visitation on Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Gill Funeral Home. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. Online condolences may be left at gillsince1872.com.
