Betty Louise Goodwin, 90 passed away at 7:00 pm on August 1, 2020 at the Emerald Place Assisted Living. Betty was born on November 9, 1929 in Daviess County the daughter of James and Odetta (Brown) McDonald. She married Ivan “Bud” Goodwin on January 27, 1951 and he preceded her in death on May 8, 2015.
Betty was a 1948 graduate of Montgomery High School and a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church where she was very active. She had worked in retail for many years and retired from Dollar General where she had been manager for several years. Betty was also a member of Daughters of Isabelle and enjoyed bowling and gardening. Most importantly though, she enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter’s, Brenda Mullen and her husband Pat of Washington, IN, Sharon Arnold and her husband John of Washington, IN son, Steve Goodwin of Washington, IN; brother’s, Jerome McDonald of Columbus, IN, Paul McDonald and his wife Betty of Madison, TN, James McDonald and his wife Mary of Haubstadt, IN; John McDonald and his wife Sherrie of Columbus, IN; her grandchildren, John Mullen and his wife Sarah, Brian Mullen and his wife Tara, Adam Ritcheson, Heath Ritcheson and his wife Sarah, Jaden L. Goodwin; sister-in-law, Cleo Radcliff and her husband Malcolm of North Port, FL, sister-in-law, Ginny Goodwin of The Villages, FL and brother-in-law, Nolan Goodwin of Washington. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband Ivan “Bud” Goodwin.
Friends may visit with Betty’s family from 9:00 am until the hour of service time of 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN. Yvonne Evans will officiate the service and Betty will be laid to rest in Sugarland Memory Gardens next to her husband.
