Good Samaritan is offering a Women’s Wellness Fair next month. The event will take place on Tuesday, September 1 at Highland Woods Community Center in Vincennes from 7am until 10 a.m. and again from 4 to 7 p.m. (EST).
Good Samaritan says that because of the global pandemic, this year’s event will be very different than before. “Many events and health fairs have been cancelled this year due to COVID-19,” said Tiffany Conover, Director of Marketing at Good Samaritan. “But we know how important these yearly screenings are to the women in our community and did not want to take this opportunity away from them.”
In year’s past, the event has brought in more than 350 women. In addition to the free health screenings offered, other fun activities were available such as cooking demonstrations, shopping vendors, fashion shows, exercise tutorials and more. This year, however, will be different.
In order to participate in this year’s event, women must make an appointment online at gshvin.org/wellnessfair or by calling 812-885-3336. The free health screenings will include bone density, blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and more. All attendees will be socially distanced and must wear a mask. Fasting for 10 to 12 hours before these screenings is recommended, but not required.
