A burn ban was issued yesterday for Daviess County. Residents are not allowed to have an open fire or burn any type of conventional fuel. Charcoal should also not be removed from grills until the charcoal has been thoroughly extinguished. Certain campfires and burn barrels are allowed with certain exceptions. Campfires must be enclosed in a 10 inch or higher ring and burn barrels must be covered with ¼ inch mesh. Campfires and burn barrels that follow these guidelines can only be used between dusk and dawn hours. The burn ban will be in effect until further notice
