This week is Rail Safety Week in Indiana. Indiana State Police, INDOT, and railroad companies are partnering together to raise awareness about the dangers of ignoring railroad crossing laws and trespassing on railroad property. In 2019, there were 120 crashes involving trains in Indiana, injuring 44 people and killing 11 people. Nine more people were killed when walking along railroad tracks.
