John W. Cassidy, of Washington, passed away peacefully Sept. 25, after a battle with lung cancer. He was born Nov. 16, 1960, to the late George and Mary (Turnbaugh) Cassidy.
John attended Washington High School and enlisted in the United States Army upon graduation. He enjoyed time with his family and friends, grilling out, having a cold beer and playing Euchre; and he recently moved to Orlando, Florida, to be with his sweetheart, Kathy Howell.
John is survived by three sons, Michael of Washington, Brian of Jasper and Darin of Holland, Indiana; one daughter, Jennifer (Cassidy) Page of Knoxville, Tennessee; one brother, Tim Cassidy of Washington; one sister, Teresa Cassidy of Charleston, South Carolina; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his mother, Mary (1993); brother Mark (2006); father George (2006); stepmother Barbara (2007); and brother Robert (2017).
