Election Day is approaching fast. Washington has two contested races for Washington Community School Board. The first contested race is for a seat in District 1. Timothy Hedrick is challenging Peggy Stevens.
Seven people are running for 2 Washington school board at large seats. These candidates include current board president Randy Bouchie, Derick Clarke, Kyle Cornelius, Barbara Duncan, Kelly Garland, Kenny Key, and Alex Portee. Daviess County voters will only have one county wide race to vote in. Democrat Yolonda Granger Bostic is running against Republican Rosetta Newton for the Recorder’s office. That office is presently held by Jamie Chapman who ran for Treasurer in the Primary Election. Chapman is running unopposed and will take over that office in January.
Daviess County falls into House Districts 45, 62, and 63 with 63 covering most of the county. Bruce Borders is running unopposed for District 45. Democrat Alyssa Bailey is facing Republican Jeff Ellington for District 62 and Democrat Teresa Kendall is challenging Republican Shane Lindauer for 63.
