Joseph Eugene Baker

Joseph Eugene Baker, 74, of Loogootee, went to live eternally with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Loogootee Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born October 21, 1946 in Elnora, Indiana to the late Emil W. and Alma J. Baker.
Joe worked at NSWC Crane for 30 plus years. In 1993 he married the love of his life, Delphia Davidson from Loogootee and made Loogootee his home.
He was an avid sports fan, but his all-time favorite team, was the Loogootee Lions. You would find Joe at nearly every Loogootee Lions sporting event with a smile on his face. He loved to talk and was a dear friend to many, he will be greatly missed.
Joe was a man of deep faith and always carried a cross around his neck or in his pocket. He attended the Loogootee Revival Center, New Beginnings Church and Redemption Christian Church. He also helped at the Loogootee United Methodist Church on occasion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Alma Baker; brothers-in-law, Fred and Wayne Davidson.
Joe is survived by his wife and best friend, Delphia Baker; sister-in-law, Shirley Timberman; life-long friends and coworker, Denny (Becky) Ramsey and special friends, Brooke (Jordan) Hawkins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the Redemption Christian Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Redemption Christian Church.
