Betty Wise, 89, of Washington, passed away at 2:33 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2020 at The Villages of Oak Ridge.
She was born October 19, 1931 in Washington, Indiana to the late Voila and Bernice (Morrison) Rogers.
Betty graduated from Washington High School in 1949. She was a former clerk at the Daviess County Courthouse in the Recorder’s office. She also was previously employed at Rogers Red and White and Tokheim. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington.
She was an incredibly talented individual who played the piano beautifully and wrote several church hymns. She loved to read, enjoyed working crossword puzzles and was an avid bowler. Betty also was a published poet. She dearly loved her children and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by one son, Philip Wise; daughter, Carol Wise; her parents, Voila and Bernice Rogers and three siblings.
She is survived by two sons, Freddie (Renee) Wise Jr. of Lebanon, Ohio and Alan (Molly) Wise of Bloomington; two daughters, Linda Wise and Sandy (Phil) Heymann, both of Washington; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; her beloved cat, Tina.
In accordance with Betty’s wishes cremation was chosen, and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
