Doris E. Lindsey, age 92, of Loogootee, passed away on Thursday November 26, 2020 at Bridge Pointe Health Campus in Vincennes, IN.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1928 to Noel and Amelia (Fuhrman) Wildman. She married John D. Lindsey on July 6, 1950, he preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 2005. Doris was a member of the Loogootee United Methodist Church, and she graduated from Loogootee High School in 1945. She was employed by Indiana Bell as a telephone operator, Walkers Drug Store in Loogootee, and worked as a school cook for Loogootee School Corporation for 35 years. Doris also enjoyed being a Martin County 4-H leader.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Lindsey, her parents; Noel and Amelia Wildman, one son James F. Lindsey of Crawfordsville in 2017, her sister, Betty McBurnett, and one infant brother.
Doris is survived by two sons: John Michael (Terri) Lindsey, Kevin (Lisa) Lindsey, of Shoals, IN, her daughter, Dora (Mark) Wampler of Bicknell, IN, her daughter in-law, Lisa Lindsey of Crawfordsville, IN, eight grandchildren: Holly (Chris) Kirkwood, Lindsey (Brady) Zollman, Jared Lindsey, Lucas Kesvormas, Ben (Skylar) Lindsey, Brandon Lindsey, Brandon (Alexis) Ivey, and Abbey Lindsey, six great-grandchildren, three brothers: Jack Wildman of Seymour, IN Edward (Beulah) Wildman of Savannah, IL. and Larry (Judy) Wildman of Loogootee, IN and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 30, 2020 at 1:00 P.M at Loogootee United Methodist Church with Pastor Colleen Harden to officiate.
Visitation will begin on Monday, November 30, 2020 at 11:00 A.M until the time of service at Loogootee United Methodist Church. Private burial will follow in Mt. Union Cemetery in Loogootee, Indiana.
