Patricia Higgs, 88, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Matthews Nouvant Hospital in Matthews, North Carolina. She was born on June 21, 1932 in Elnora, Indiana to Amos and Erma (Rogers) Roark.
Patricia worked as a waitress/head hostess for 15 years at Quail Hollow Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was an avid antiques collector and enjoyed refinishing many of the furniture pieces she purchased. She also enjoyed gardening and cultivating many varieties of plants and flowers.
Family left to cherish the memory of Patricia include: two sons, George Baker and Joseph Baker; three daughters, Sandra (Ronald) Ossman, Kristine (Donald) Fincher and Tammy Higgs; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, June Rafferty, Nashville, IN, Sue (Clare) Gee, Bloomington and Betty (Eddie) Hostetter, Elnora.
Patricia was preceded in death by: her parents; both husbands, Joe Finley Baker and Hulan Fetus Higgs; son, Terry Baker; brothers and sisters, Billy ‘Bill’ Roark, Amos ‘Bud’ Roark, Jr., Mary Syester, Earnest ‘Harold’ Roark, John ‘Fuzz’ Roark, Clifford ‘White’ Roark, Earl ‘Hanner’ Roark, Hubert Roark, Elmer Roark, Virgil Roark, Irene (Robert) Cooper, Genevieve ‘Geneva’ (William) Woodruff and Dorothy Andis.
There will be a graveside service at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Washington, Indiana. Family will be notified when the date is scheduled.
