A driver and a child were both seriously hurt after a crash over the weekend in Evansville. Evansville police say they were called out around 10:45 a.m. Sunday to Big Cynthiana Road (SR 65), south of W. Baseline Road, for the crash. Police say a 911 caller reported that there were people trapped inside a van. A nine-year-old boy had to be cut out of the van. Both the driver and child were taken to the hospital for life-threatening injuries. One witness said before the crash, they saw the van begin to leave the road. The driver then over-corrected, left the road, and hit a tree.
