Ronald Bratton

Ronald R. Bratton, 63, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on March 10, 1957 to Richard D. ‘Dick’ and Marilyn S. (Scott) Bratton in Washington, Indiana.
Ron was a graduate of North Daviess Community High School, Class of 1975 and Indiana Wesleyan University. He served in the US Navy from 1985-1989, earning a Unit Citation on the USS Forrestal Ship. Ron was employed at Cummins Diesel in Columbus. He enjoyed his career in the business sector.
Ron was a member of Odon Christian Church. His true-life calling for many years was working with and guiding young people to Christ. He was involved with Fellowship of Christian Athletes serving the many young people of Daviess County. Ron also founded the Solid Rock praise band and was the coordinator for the Daviess County Fields of Faith.
Ron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paris and Mildred Bratton and Herbert and Dolores Scott.
Those left to cherish the memories of Ron include: his parents, Dick and Marilyn; one brother, Marshall (Robin) Bratton of Nineveh, IN: one sister, Lori (Jeff) Chestnut of Bloomfield, IN. His greatest treasures were his nieces and nephews, Rebecca Bratton, Lauren (Matt) Atwood, Paige (Dylan) Carr, Anna (Cody Edwards) Bratton, Jacob Chestnut, Abigail Chestnut, Alex Chestnut, and Shelby (fiancée, Kylan) Chestnut. He cherished his great nieces, Jilli Bratton and Madelyn Atwood and his great nephew, Jameson Atwood.  Ron also leaves behind his dear friend, LeAnne Kelley.
A memorial service for Ron will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions in Ron’s honor may be made to Riley Hospital for Children (Riley Cheer Guild) or The Veterans House, both in Indianapolis, IN.
