The Daviess County Commissioners met on Tuesday for their regular session. The Commissioners heard from Daviess County Clerk Janice Williams who was requesting a renewal of a contract with MicroVote. The company is responsible for software upgrades on voting machines. The Commissioners approved the request.
The commissioners also approved a resolution that would transfer and establish a process for dispersing Cares Act Dollars. In order to receive Cares’s Act dollars, department heads would need to submit a form to the Daviess County Commissioners and present their request before the board. They would then go to the County Council for final approval before making their purchase.
The board also passed a motion by majority that would once again delay the appointment of the Westgate Authority. Commissioner Arnold stated he believes the current appointees have done a good job, but that there are more moving pieces that need explored. Natalie Smith’s appointment ended on December 31st. The Commissioners are expected to make a final decision at the next meeting.
