A man’s body has been pulled from a pond on the west side of Evansville. His body was found near Upper Mount Vernon Avenue at the Brickyard Apartments. A man named Ronald Sandefur said his dog caught the scent of the body and led him down to the shoreline. Police aren’t sure how long the body had been there. The coroner has identified the man as 50-year-old Brian Ricketts of Evansville. The Indiana State Police Missing Persons Bulletin stated Ricketts had been missing since Jan. 9. The coroner says Ricketts died of drowning, but the manner of death is still under investigation.
