The Indianapolis Colts have their quarterback. According to multiple media reports, the Philadelphia Eagles are sending Carson Wentz to the Colts in exchange for two draft picks. Indianapolis will give up a third round pick in 2021, and a conditional second round pick in 2022, which could turn into a first rounder if Wentz plays more than 75 percent of offensive snaps. The 28-year-old Wentz is coming off his worst NFL season in which he threw 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions and was benched late in the season. Current Colts coach Frank Reich was his offensive coordinator in Philadelphia in 2017, when Wentz was playing at MVP level before a season ending injury late in the year.
The Indiana Hoosiers take on Michigan State Saturday afternoon in a crucial Big Ten matchup in Bloomington. The Spartans are reeling, and have lost four straight road games by an average of nearly 16 points per game. The Hoosiers are looking to build momentum after defeating Minnesota at home Wednesday night. Notre Dame looks to stay hot at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Syracuse. The Fighting Irish have won six out of eight and had Wednesday’s game against Clemson postponed. Purdue goes for two wins in a row at last-place Nebraska at 5:30.
The Indiana Pacers look to continue their winning ways Saturday night when they take on the Houston Rockets on the road. Indiana has won three out of four and is 15-14 after escaping Minneapolis with an overtime victory over the Timberwolves. It will be the first game for Indiana against former Pacers star Victor Oladipo, although the former Pacers and IU standout has missed the last three games with a foot sprain.
